Dahlia Fiend
Dahlia Fiend
Dahlia Fiend is the moniker for singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Sherman Baker's electronic based music. After over a decade spent steadily writing and releasing records in the folk, roots and indie-rock genres Baker was diagnosed with cancer and subsequently spent months undergoing surgeries and traveling between his current home, Sacramento, and San Francisco. It was during this time, while recovering, that Baker began delving back into the harder edged, beat and synth oriented music he grew up with in the nineties. DJ Shadow, Tricky, Bjork, Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, New Order and Depeche Mode were all touchstones but with the mind that Dahlia Fiend would be it's own entity with an emphasis on classic songwriting.

2016 was spent recording the debut LP "Beautiful People In Ugly Places" first in Baker's home studio and then onto producer/engineer John Baccagaluppi's Panoramic House in Marin for additional tracking and stem mixing.
Blue Oaks
Blue Oaks
Beginning in Folsom, California in late 2007. Brendan Stone started Blue Oaks as a way of putting his poetry and thoughts to sound.

From local open mic nights and house performances, on now to larger venues in the Sacramento area. Stone picked up charismatic drummer Cody Walker for the journey in late 2012.

Now a duo rooted in Sacramento, CA, gaining more raunch and grit to their sound with Walker's pounding drums and Stone's intricate versing. They hone a powerful dynamic that is hard to match. Having local acclaim under their belt, Blue Oaks tracked their debut vinyl single "Hit by a Train from New York City Blues" w/ "Skeleton Key" to Analog Tape at The Atomic Garden Studio in Palo Alto, CA with Producer Jack Shirley. This vinyl was released on December 7th, 2013! You can catch Blue Oaks on Sacramento area stages, and on tour near you in 2014 to follow up their record release!
